Hi, I’m Ann-Marie.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and potentially read a few of my posts and writing samples.
I am a recent graduate of Yonsei University and an aspiring academic with hopes of pursing a lifelong career in education and research. My undergraduate background is in Mass Communication (digital media), and I have partnered this with my passion for world cultures and social issues.
Specifically, I became interested in sociology and Korea almost 10 years ago, and this has since blossomed into a master’s degree in Korean Studies and contributions to social science research.
Last year, I completed both my graduate degree and thesis research, with the latter concerning mental health in South Korea. You can find a brief synopsis of my research along with other topical discussions right here on my blog. This blog serves as a record of my research and personal interests in hopes to share insights and collaborate with those in and out of my field.
Outside of academia, I am a creative, traveler, musician, and a lover of my family and friends. I am currently located in central Texas but I hope to continue expanding my borders and collecting as many invaluable experiences as I can in this life.
