This blog was originally born from an assignment in my undergraduate years, simply serving as a hands-on learning experience of WordPress. However, it was the beginning of something much more important; an outlet for my temporarily unpursued passions.

At the risk of summarizing my biography section, about halfway through a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, I realized I had a passion for sociology and Korean studies, just sitting on a backburner. My interest in Korea seemed like a shallow hobby in its infancy, but partnered with my growing desire to expand my horizons and learn more about the world around me, I realized it could be so much more.

Fast-forwarding through a study abroad semester in Seoul and a tumultuous 2020, I held my Bachelor’s in one hand and a plane ticket back to Korea to begin my Masters. The time I spent earning this degree felt entirely different than my first; I had a newfound love for learning, research, and writing that I never had before. Having the opportunity to spend my days discussing Korea, history, culture, social issues, and far beyond allowed me to finally discover my intentions for my career and future.

This brings me to the re-birth of this blog. It was created as an outlet for a hobby, and now it serves as a method to share my thoughts and connect with my field, and hopefully an even larger audience. I’m currently working towards a lifelong career in academia and research, and this blog will be a paper trail of the topics I’d like to tackle

A glimpse of what you can expect so far is a brief series of reposted material from the original blog days, along with summaries of some of my work as a Korean Studies MA candidate. From here forward, I am excited to share new writings covering various topics surrounding Korea and beyond, especially concerning social issues, public health, and more.

Thanks for stopping by!
